Enlarged Council Meeting of SCS was Held in Sept.,2008

The second enlarged council meeting of SCS was held on Sept. 4th, 2008. There were 17 executive members of the council and directors of professional committees participating this meeting. The Secretary General reviewed latest situation of compiling the issue special for 60th anniversary of SCS, and briefed the arrangement of the series activities for academic exchange during the period of celebrating 60th anniversary. It was finally decided that in the morning of Nov. 5th, 2008 the general meeting of SCS is going to be held and in the afternoon the specialist seminars is to be given by each professional committee, respectively.

Held Meeting on foreign affairs by SAST

A discussion on foreign affairs and outside Mainland work of some societies and sub-associations for science and technology of some counties and districts was held on Sept. 8th, 2008. The leaders of those societies and sub-associations attended this meeting. Through the warm discussion some proposals were presented. Finally, the vice chairman of Shanghai Association for Science and Technology made a summary.

CCS Held The 18th Working Meeting

The 18th working meeting combined with the 17th group member congress was held from May 9th to 12th, 2008. The general secretaries of ceramic societies of each province and professional committee as well as some representatives of group members attended this meeting. A working summary of 2007 and a proposal for further work in 2008 were presented by the leader of Chinese Ceramic Society.

Shanghai Ceramic Society was once again judged as ¡°Advanced Unit in Chinese Ceramic Society, 2006-2007¡±.


The meeting for approving manuscripts of special issue for 60th anniversary of SCS was held

A meeting for examining and approving manuscripts of special issue for 60th anniversary of SCS was held on June 17th, 2008. The president, four vice presidents, secretary general and some executive members of the council as well as directors of each professional committees participated in this meeting.

 
SAST Leaders Visited SCS for Investigation

A delegation of Society Service Centre of Shanghai Association for Science and Technology visited SCS on June 26th, 2008 for investigation. The Secretary General of SCS received the delegation and briefed the activities of SCS in the recent years.

 
Shanghai-Jiangsu Symposium on Deep Processing Technology for New Glass Materials held
The¡°¡¯08 Shanghai-Jiangsu Symposium on Deep Processing Technology for New Glass

Materials¡± sponsored by Shanghai Ceramic Society and Jiangsu Ceramic Society was held on July 8th, 2008 in Shanghai. About 70 participants from Shanghai and Jiangsu Province attended this symposium. The general secretaries of both Shanghai and Jiangsu Ceramic Society made their speech and five specialists presented their disquisitions.

 
A Visit arranged by Traditional Ceramic Committee

A visit to Shanghai FRP Research Institute for interchange was paid on July 10th, 2008. The vice president of SCS and about 20 members of Traditional Ceramic Committee, Furnace and Apparatus Committee, Special Inorganic Materials Committee and Science Promotion Committee took part in this activity.
